Tubal after delivery

I'm 32 weeks with my 3 child. My DH has 2 kids from a previous relationship. So in totally we will have 5 kids to care for. I'm opting to have a tubal ligation done following a vaginal delivery. Has anyone else had this done? I'm planning on birthing naturally again, with no pain meds. So they'll give me an epidural or spinal before surgery. I feel like getting the tubal done after delivering is the best option for me so I don't have to wait six weeks to heel and then go back for another hospital stay.
