Too early?

Question

Why does everyone else seem to have their babies size and such checked all the time? I haven't had mine checked the entire time I've been pregnant.. ive only had one ultrasound too.. how do they check to see the size of your baby? 29 weeks prego- too early or what?

My Dr hasn't checked since I had my 20 week scan and didn't check with my first son. I went for a 4D image at 28 weeks and they told me the size. I don't think many Drs will do extra ultrasounds unless they are needed.

A lot of the high risk mamas need to be checked more often. I have gestational diabetes so I get a growth ultrasound every 4 weeks.

At my Drs office we get ultrasounds every time  you go in. I have been going every 3 weeks and the next appt with start every 2 weeks and I can't wait. Was told baby could make his appearance anytime after 37 weeks due to medical history of multiple miscarriages and a clotting disorder so I will have a repeat c section just hoping we can make it to the full 39 weeks before having baby boy.

I had a scan at 30 weeks but they didn't give me any size measurements. Not even a guessed weight! They did it just to make sure his growth wasn't being restricted from the shape of my uterus. If they didn't have to do that I wouldn't have had another ultrasound.

It truly depends where you go. When I was pregnant with my son I swear I only had three sonograms (first one was two confirm pregnancy etc, second don't remember and the third was to check gender). It may have just been two sonograms actually. The rest they used that other machine to check heart rate. However, with this pregnancy since I am high risk I have gotten so many sonograms and ultrasounds that I have lost count. So don't worry you may have just one more if that.

I'm high risk due to a blood clotting disorder, so they check monthly for growth since clots can form in the placenta and restrict growth. Most everyone else I know just gets the 2 ultrasounds one in the beginning at 10 weeks and one at 20.

Im almost 30 weeks and still haven't gotten measured to check in bby size besides the 2 ultrasound ive had and im considered "high risk " pregnant with iud:/

I get my belly measured every 2 weeks to see growing progress, but my doctor said my ultrasound wouldn't be until 37 weeks, to check then to see the size of the baby, position, ect.
