Would you still ttc knowing your OH would miss the birth?

Me and my hubby decided to try for a baby in december. We decided that if it didn't happy by March, we would put it on hold until July. He is millatry and would be going away Jan next year. This means he would miss this birth. I fell pregnant in Jan but lost them at 8 weeks. Now all I want is a baby. But at the same time. I wouldn't want him to miss the birth of his first child. I'm stuck in two minds of what to do.

That's a difficult one! I don't honestly know what I'd do. It would depend how long we'd been trying and my age. Missing the birth would be awful but that little person would be in both your lives forever. Go with your heart, but also have a think about your circumstances. If you've got plenty of time, age wise, it may be best to wait a few months. It's also not necessarily about missing 'the birth', it's the support you may need in the final few weeks of pregnancy and when you have a newborn. I ended up going overdue, having a failed induction and then an emergency c section- far from the natural birth I'd hoped for. My husband's support in reassuring me that it was for the best and there was nothing more I could have done to prevent the c section was so important as I was recovering and coming to terms with it. My husband is military and we decided we didn't care. If we got pregnant and he got deployed it would be sad but then we would have a new bundle of joy for us to love.
