Christian believers

Why does it seem in every situation im in he is always there and answers but when it comes down to finding youre  soulmate he has not shown anything? Gods been good to me for many years but all im asking for is a soulmate like everyone else today. Does he want me alone and independent....bible says "ask and  it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you"
