Weird "periods"

So last month I went off birth control and I had very light spotting only for my period. I took a test at the doctor just to be sure and it came back negative. We ttc this month and I was supposed to get My period Monday and it supposed to be done today but I've only gotten very light spotting on and off. I took a test 3 days before and day of missed period and both negative. Any ideas?
