Can anyone tell me what this is on my son's face?

I don't know what this is but it popped up on my lil boy's face a few days ago. It feels rough. Under his lip is where his lips are chapped. He doesn't act like it hurts but most kids won't when they're sick. This has never happened and I jus wanna know is there anyone out there that this has happened to anyone else's children?

My son gets dry skin like this occasionally. I swear by Eucerin healing cream. It comes in a tub and lasts a while. I use it for an every day moisturizer for him as well.

Make a visit to his pediatrician! My daughters cheeks are red like that and it comes and go! They gave us a tube of hydrocortisone, but honestly if you have Ecurien lotion or a really good lotion apply it to there. Always keep it moisturize.

Dry/chapped skin. My sons dr said Vaseline will help.

There is some virus or something that looks like a "slapped cheek" .....I forget what it is called....type it into web md....does he have other symptoms? If not, maybe it is just chapping due to cold weather. They have some products in the baby aisle that are meant to help soothe chapped lips and skin.

My son has super sensitive skin. Almost anything will dry his skin out. He's cheeks look like that right now :(

Looks like dry skin to me. Do you live in a cold climate? My little girl gets red cheeks like this sometimes in the winter especially after a bath. A little vasiline and it cleared right up.

If it is eczema, I suggest Aquaphor. I use it for mine and my daughters eczema.

My son has the same thing. 
It's extra dry skin. 
I have scream from his doctor that I use when it gets to be bad like that, but when he isn't broke out with it I put baby oil on him after a bath. 
Don't rub scented lotion on it because it will make it burn, if you have unscented lotion use that. I like aveeno unscented.
But let his doctor know about the rash/dry skin so he can give you a cream to help clear it up fast.

First thing that came to mind is eczema. My cousins and nephews got it when they were younger especially when someone used different lotion or body wash on them. My husband gets it when I use scented lotions or when the weather get really cold sometimes.
