When was your baby able to find the pacifier at night?

My daughter is waking looking for the pacifier 5-10 times a night and I'm more tired than when she was nursing at night.. When was your baby able to find it at night on their own? My daughter is almost 5 months. I've tried taking the pacifier away but she is miserable without it!

Wal-Mart carries a pacifier clip that you can clip to their nightgown so when the paci falls out it should be right by them. I did that around 5-6 months.

Well, the good news is, it's just a phase and it will pass. The bad news is she's probably teething or going through something else that is causing her discomfort. This happened with my daughter also at this age. It's not really about her finding the pacifier again, it's more about being able to sleep through the night without whatever it is that's bothering her, most likely teething. She could also be going through a growth spurt or developmental Leap, which could also cause her to wake multiple times. To answer your question, it's probably so dark in her room that even if she was developmentally able to find the pacifier, she wouldn't be able to find it. My daughter just gave up the pacifier a month before her two year birthday and she was not able to always find in the dark if she woke during the night.
