How do you keep from hating him and running away?

It seems so many men become complete slime balls when pregnancy or a new child is involved and so many women say "I never would have thought" (myself included) but how do you keep from letting his slime ball behavior, turn you into the mother who wants nothing to do with him regardless of the child? 
I see myself struggling with this really soon...

I’ve been struggling with a lot of hard feeling towards bd lately too. It’s another one of those “I never would have thought..” situations. Honestly the best thing for me was just to let go. Being angry and hating someone only hurts you, it doesn’t make them feel bad or make their life any worse. So I’ve been trying to let go of that anger and instead focus on what’s best for the baby. That’s the only thing that matters. Much easier said than done, I know, and I still struggle with it a lot. But let him act like an asshole if he wants to, you be happy and ignore it and focus on what’s best for the baby.

Maybe try to only communicate with him in small amounts, try to have other people there when he visits you or visit in a public place if possible? That way you can walk away when you've had enough. Good luck!

you learn to deal with it :) I've been in this situation and at this point I'm 36w1d and glad I'll have someone to help me! I'm thankful that he loves my daughter. I don't feel so alone when I think of him. he isn't currently involved because we just in the last 2 months stopped fighting all the time, but I'm excited for when he will be involved

Well, you can have limited communication. I had to block mine on days that he didn't have his parenting time and would only unblock him the evening before in case he tried to cancel.
