Tampon issue, Need advice

Ladies that use tampons:

I'm on my third period day with a moderate flow. However, it feels as though my tampon won't go in all the way as it should (the applicator grips where my fingers hold doesnt meet my body). Same brand. What's up with that? I had leaks because of it.

Back-story: TTC for 8 months. Since off BC pills, i seem to required a higher absorbance (regulars) instead of lights. I'm hoping that someone else has experienced this and that it may not have anything to do with my cervical opening.
