41 and pregnancy test

I bought these hcg test online they are the strip kind . just don't feel confident about them I took test came back negative but I also use the same ones for ovulation and always come back faint . I finally changed my ovulation test to clear blue and I got a high peak first time ever ... Should I buy a first response pregnancy test ... How many ppl have had issues w the strip test you get online
