Roaches?! 😳

Question

Nothing to do with periods. But. Around 8:30 tonight I found a cockroach in my room under my makeup brush holder (we've never had cockroaches). I don't keep food in my room. It was light brown and about the size of the brush part of a toothbrush. There was only one. And it was still alive. I flushed it, but I don't want to go back to my room!!! I HATE bugs. Getting an exterminator sometime this week. But is it likely for these bitches to crawl on me in my sleep?! 😩😭

They could but if you see one they're everywhere. I wouldn't eat any open food in the kitchen

Eh, it depends what kind. The little ones are harder to get rid of and usually if there's one, there's more. The large ones (American cockroaches, i think?) sometimes just show up and it doesn't mean an infestation. Especially if it's really humid out. I used to find those huge ones in my apartment occasionally and always freaked out and called an exterminator and that's what he told me. I always keep a can of Raid in the house just in case bc those fuckers are terrifying! But I've never had one crawl on me- worst nightmare. I'd have to amputate whatever body part it touched.

Anyway keep food sealed tight but keeping things dry is also really important- wipe down the sinks, etc. But it's hard when it's hot humid and pipes/toilets get condensation. If you get cardboard boxes (like from a delivery) take them outside to the trash right away bc those pockets in the corrugated cardboard are known for hiding roach eggs.
