Pain in the right abdomen

Hey so this is my first pregnancy and we are so excited especially since we were told if it was going to happen we would need to do infertility type stuff. But now that I am pregnant all I worry about is losing the baby.

So I am asking for help from anyone to make sure before I call my doctor frantic. I am 6 weeks pregnant, an our first appointment is next week. I know having cramps is normal, which I am having but I am also have very heavy cramping in my right lower abdominal area, not to the point where I can't function but heavier than the normal cramping. It does not last more than a 3 to 5 mins. Then subside and my normal cramping kicks in but then it comes back.

I have not seen any bleeding or anything and I have no discharge. But should I be worried about the pain as it is more intense then the normal cramping and in one specific area. So I need to push up my appointment with my 2nd or am I okay to leave it.

Any help or advice would be great.
