Is this normal?

I went to my first doctor visit which consisted of me answering a bunch of questions and leaving. There was no physical exam other than peeing in a cup. The doctor spoke to my husband and I and mentioned that since I'm bigger his wife wouldn't be able to deliver for me since she's only about 100 lbs. (Husband and wife practice). This sounded goofy to us, but is that true that since I'm a bigger lady I'm gonna need some Terry Cruse kinda doctor to deliver this baby?

If you prefer a woman Dr I would request her and if not then I would find somewhere else. Its sounds really weird and I've never heard of that happening.

That's really weird, I'd find someone else if you're uncomfortable with them. There's no reason why her weight would be an issue unless she's too weak to hold a baby that's coming out of you.

Maybe that's the deal the wife and husband have. Or the wife isn't comfortable with it. I would just ask the reason behind it.

That sounds suspect. I've never heard of needing someone of a particular size to deliver a baby.

Sounds like my first appt with the exception of the diff doc delivering. Mines not very big and I'm a large woman.
