Should I suck it up and work night shift?

I've been looking for a job for a few months now, and my husband is currently paying the bills. We are getting by okay right now. But his dad told me I should get a night shift job since I can't find a day shift one. My husband and I are newlyweds and I'm afraid it's going to hurt our marriage. He works 5am-6pm, so the only time I get to see him is from 6:30-9:30 on weekdays. I dont know what to do because I'm afraid if I get a night shift job, we won't see each other because I'll probably end up having to work weekends too since I'd be new.

In my opinion your marriage comes first. And your father in law isn't part of your marriage. Talk to your husband about how your feeling. As someone who worked the night shift, it's exhausting. Your body isn't used to being. Awake at those hours. So on top of not being able to see your husband during the week, when you do you'll be exhausted. But talk to your husband about options and tell him how you feel about the night shift.

A lot of places it easier to get in nights and once you've worked for a few months it gives you priority to move to another shift over new hires. Id suck it up just to get my foot in the door someplace at least. Never know to you may like it, I've been working nights for almost 9 years now and I doubt I'll ever do days again lol

My husband and I see each other for about 30 mins a day on the days we work (5 days a week) and are very fortunate that we get weekends off together. It does suck and I would not recommend it, but I don't ask to change because I'm going on maternity leave soon. 
Maybe you can work nights just to have a job for a little bit and continue to look for a job that's in the day time? It's not ideal but if you need the money I wouldn't be to picky.

I think if you take it, you need to organize a single day a week you two can spend entirely together. My husband and I are on opposite schedules right now but we always have Friday. 💕

I work night shift i personally love it -you also get paid more usually if you cant get a day shift job id consider it even if its a few nights a week... I work 11-7 most are around that time so you could technically still see him the same time after hes done work youd jyst be leaving when hes going to bed. It can be hard on relationships my last ex expected me to be awake during the day while he worked so he could text me so i got no sleep in days i had work but if you dont need constant texting that wouldnt be an issue lol but itd be better then nothing if ya cant get anything else.

I worked split shifts picking up a second job for a while. We needed the money. It sucked hard. I gained a lot of weight and never had energy. However, I'm proud of what I did. I'm not saying you should take the night job, but the sense of accomplishment I felt in doing what needed to be done was very nice. It doesn't have to be forever. That being said, if you feel like you are doing ok without it and your husband is supportive of your decision, his dad's thoughts shouldn't matter.

I worked a 10 pm to 6am with my first fiance. Honestly it kinda is a make or break for the relationship BUT I firmly believe that if it breaks it, the relationship wasn't that great to start.
