I haven't told anyone my birth story but I figured I'd tell it here after seeing all you lovely ladies stories. My baby girls due date was March 16, 2016. No matter what I did this little stubborn girl did not wanna come out so on March 22nd, 2016 I was scheduled to go to the hospital at 9pm to start prepping for induction. They stuck something in to rippen my cervix that night so I rested all night & was awoken at 7am to start the pitocin. They checked me & I was only a finger tip dilated. So they gave me pitocin all day and checked me again at 12pm, still only a finger tip dilated. So they said if I hadn't dilated anymore by 4pm they were gonna stop pitocin for the day so I could eat (I hadn't eaten since 8pm the night before, hungry pregnant lady was not happy!) the next morning they woke me up at the same time (7am) to start pitocin again but they were gonna do it more aggressively this time. They kept upping my dosage every hour and it just knocked me out. Finally about 10am I woke up needing to pee and as soon as I got up my water broke everywhere. So my nurse checked me again I was only half a centimeter dilated! They kept upping my dosage of pitocin still. Finally at 5pm contractions started so they checked me again, only a centimeter dilated! By 8pm my contractions got really bad and painful so they checked once again, still only a centimeter dilated but they said my contractions were as strong as someone who was 8cm so I asked for my epidural. Finally about 12am my doctor came in and told me if I hadn't dilated anymore than a centimeter we were probably gonna have to do a c-section, which at this point I was just ready for this little girl to come out. At 4am I was woken up to be checked, 3cm so we were gonna keep trying naturally, so I went back to sleep. I was awoken at 5am & I was 7cm! Then I was awoken at 6am being told I was 10cm and it was time to push! After pushing for an hour my sweet little girl was born at 7:23am! 7.03ozs 20inches long. Miss. Aubree Blake 💗
