It depends on which part of life you're in. If you're young age plays a huge role in how you interact and how mature you are.. As you get older age matters less.

Once you've had certain life experiences and can relate to each other then age no longer becomes relevant. If you're just barely out of high school and dating a 40YO there's likely an issue there because most 40yos don't have time for hs aged kids... (Extreme example)

I think anyone who is in a relationship with someone who is not their age would tell you age is just a number.

When me and my SO started dating I was 16 and he was 21.. now I'm 19 and he's almost 24! There's never been a problem with our 5 year age difference! ?
