Are extra carseat bases worth it?

We got a Graco click connect car seat/ travel system. We have 2 cars and it would be helpful for my MIL to have a connector as well. Is it worth it to buy 2 extra bases ( they are about $90 each) or just transfer the base if we are using another vehicle?

I don't have the same seat but I have one base in our car. When I go into someone else's vehicle I just use the seatbelt across the handle as per the instructions of the manufacturer for use without the base. It does not take long and when done right is just as secure.

It's honestly a pain to have to switch the base, or car seat at all, but if you wouldn't be doing it often it probably wouldn't be bad.

I'd keep the base in main car and just use the belt in the second. The only reason to need two bases in my opinion is if you don't trust the person installing the seat. Then you can install the base and know it's safe.

Yes!! We bought a second one!.
This is my second child and it's not that I'm lazy but when you're in a rush it is a pain in the ass to make sure that base is sitting there properly. Me and my SO are always on the go. I wish I would have had the second base with my first.. even as my first got older I bought multiple carseats/boosters so I didn't have to constantly switch them out. It's definitely more convenient!

We're just sticking with one. Honestly the latch systems take like 10 seconds to install. 
For my family it's not worth it. But if you guys alternate between driving baby a lot (or don't just switch cars like a lot of families do), then you might want another base.

It's super easy to move bases. Plus, it isn't completely necessary to use a base in the car.

Depends how often they would use it. I say no if it's not often. Just use a seatbelt or for long trips switch the base

We have the graco click connect and got an additional base. It was $45 not $90 (unless you met for two bases it would be $90 total not each) That seemed well worth it to me! This is our first and we haven't used it yet as baby is not here, but it really wasn't even a discussion for $45 the convenience seemed worth it. Especially if one is dropping baby off and someone else is picking up which will most likely happen for us.

We bought a second one, I don't want to have to worry about constantly moving the base. The click connect ones are only about $44 at target. I would look into that pricing
