We were young an our parents caused us to split and we both went to different school but I never stopped loving him and we found each other again

In my case I was dating someone I knew I had NO future with. He almost caused me to lose everything I had. He was on heroin and when I finally realized it I knew I was done. We had been together for 2 years but he wasn't on it the whole time we were together only towards the end. After I had left him I immediately jumped into a new relationship with my current boyfriend but I still had feelings for my ex even after finding out he was on serious drugs and after everything he had put me through.. I think when you really loved someone the feelings don't just go away like that, it takes time. Being in a new relationship helped me get over the old one because I was in a lot of pain and hurt at the time.. My boyfriend was very patient and understanding with me and what I was going through and helped make me feel happy, something I hadn't truly felt in a very long time.

It happened once a long time ago. At the time things weren't working out and communication sucked. Now looking back on it I'm sure that we were both at fault and had no idea what was going on. I did get into a relationship soon after that big one. But honestly it wasn't even all that rewarding. Mostly it was to not feel lonely. My suggestion is to give yourself time. It helps clear your head. Kind of like a reset button.
