Ultrasound at 17 week appointment?

I have my second prenatal appointment ever, and I'll be around 16-17 weeks. Will they do an ultrasound? What do they normally do?

I'm on my 2nd baby and our Doctor does not do an ultrasound at 16-17 week appointment only the Doppler to listen to the heartbeat. He does another ultrasound at the 20 week appointment.

They did for me! But it's because they had trouble picking up the heartbeat with hand held Doppler. My baby was moving a lot ! 😊
