My hubby was held at knifepoint and almost sexually assaulted when he was 8 years old with police just a few feet away it brought out some trauma induced depression in him. He wants to work for the public to help others and try to prevent these things from happening. He's afraid that his diagnosis a few years ago of PTSD will prevent him from joining the force. He's worked in a bakery for 14 years straight, is very independent and driving, he isn't incapacitated or anything. Will this depression/diagnosis hold him back?? Will he be eligible?
