Can a follicle be too big?!

Question

Today i went in for my ultra sound to see if we can go ahead with IUI on Wednesday.  I had two follicles that measured 14mm, one that measured 28mm and another that measured 34mm.  I took clomid cd 3-7, menopur shot day 9.   I have read that a follicle that big could be a cyst.  My dr seemed optimistic and not at all concerned at the size.  Should i be worried??? Has anyone else had a follicle this big and got pregnant?  We have been ttc for 2 years and this will be my first IUi.

Had my IUI today- dr said anything under 40mm is not a concern.. so i should be good... fingers crossed!!

I worry that the clomid blocks the brains ability to recognize the estrogen delaying LH surge, and missing the prime time for the follicle at its most healthy. I am not helping here am I. You could ask for a trigger shot if this month doesn't work out.

I understand how you feel. I read so much information online and sometimes I doubt my doctor, but if you think about it, it's funny. Doctors are trained. They are professional!! 
Anyway, if you have the big cysts, you should be experiencing huge pain. I had a bad pelvic pain when I had one.It was only 20mm but it was uncomfortable.

I asked my MD about follicle size on my last visit. I had one that was 27 or 28mm and they scheduled my IUI for 3 days after the ultrasound. They said they can see up to 35 mm on the midcycle checks. I think you should be ok!

Before I started my iui last month the dr had me come in on cycle day 3 to see if my ovaries were "calm" . As soon as she saw my left ovary there was a huge cyst. She had to cancel the iui because all the meds she wanted to put me on would only make the cyst get bigger. So we had to reschedule. Did you go in early in your cycle to see how your ovaries looked at the beginning?

The 34 could be a cyst. I have one that was 29mm 3 days before my IUI, also 3 days before I had 3 follicles 18.1, 17.1 and 13.8 my doctor had me do 2 more FSH shots then trigger shot.
