Who comes first your mom or your so

My mom doesn't like my husband. She gets mad that I let him discipline or yells at my daughter. She used to get mad when my dad would punish us also. She tells me I need to take her side simply because she is my mom so I'm curious, who do you put first your mom or your SO?

Nope,  she is incorrect. My husband is 1. Then my mother. Not to be disrespectful to her,  but I picked the man I want to be with forever so that means working through everything and finding a happy medium. My mom's opinion is always taken into consideration but I will decide what is best for my family noone else. Also children need to be disciplined and I see nothing wrong with a step father disciplining his step children

Even when my husband is wrong or I'm wrong we are a united front to everyone. That includes my mother,his mother, or his ex. While we take our parents opinions into consideration our decisions are never made because they say that's what has to happen. Many times my husband has had to put his mother in her place since I've been pregnant.. Always have to be a united front or people will see the cracks and come in to try to tear everything down..

Your SO is your partner. In marriage unless he is in the wrong I'd take his side. It's our kid we can decide what's best. While I do value my mothers opinion ultimately it comes down to my SO and I.

Neither, you shouldn't have to chose. She may not agree with his partening, but that's his child, not hers. She needs to butt out.. if you have a problem with it you need to speak to him about it.

My mom pulls that crap too. It ruined my sister ( who is TOTALLY undisciplined & lazy brat) & she tried to w my kids. When I ask her why she acts that way it's
 " I'm the grandma/ MIL, I'm supposed to ".
