Did you BF while pregnant?

Dr wants me to stop at second trimester which is when my daughter will be a year old but she is obsessed with the boob and I know she will not want to wean anytime soon. I also wanted to continue to nurse once a day until she was two.

I would think about stopping, how are you going to manage when the baby is born? You have done so well doing it until she's 1 but you also need to think about the baby your carrying and how your gonna manage if your daughter is still breast feeding when your trying to feed a new born too xx

I am 17 weeks and I am still nursing my 13 month old 4x a day. She eats a good amount of food and also drinks cow milk so if I lose my supply she will be aok. I think it's completely up to you. I've had friends who nursed through an entire pregnancy and tandem nurses and then others who weaned. Each are going to have their pros and cons! I plan on nursing as long as my supply is strong and my LO wants. I think tandem nursing will be a great way to help lessen the transition of new baby.

Breastfeeding while pregnant may cause preterm labor. If you have a normal pregnancy it could be okay to continue, however I wouldn't suggest it :/ you know your body, and your babies, so whatever feels right to you is what you should do! My first was born at 35 weeks and 3 months old when I got pregnant with my second, and my OB urged me to stop breastfeeding. I think my milk started tasting funny or something because my daughter didn't want to nurse any more shortly after I became pregnant again. My second wasn't born until 36 weeks. I became pregnant with my third when my second was a year old, and breastfed him (only at bed time) until I wound up in the hospital with preterm labor.. My third ended up being born at 33 weeks. I do have other issues that contribute to my history of preterm births, but this pregnancy (my fourth) I immediately stopped nursing my 18 month old all together (he was only nursing at night to fall asleep, and occasionally in the morning)as soon as I found out. I am now 36 weeks pregnant! Had I continued nursing I probably wouldn't have made it this far in my pregnancy. I do know some women who nursed their entire pregnancies and gave birth full term, and then tandem fed which I find awesome!! Like I said.. You know your body, and your babies, and if you don't feel the need to discontinue nursing, then listen to your body. Congrats on your pregnancy!! ❤️❤️

I was breastfeeding my 2 year old when I found out I was pregnant dr asked me at 9 weeks if I can stop breastfeeding by my second semester. I was fine w it because my baby girl was almost 2.5. I breastfed for 28 months. I've heard of women still nurse while pregnant. I hope you can continue!! Best wishes🙏🏽
