When to have my early scan

Question

Hi all, my scan appt is for a weekend so the above are my options. It's typically called the 7-8 week scan to check for a heartbeat, date the baby and check growth.  
I am in two mind when to book the scan as I want to know ASAP if baby is developing ok but also thinking if I hang on another week or so I will see more and we can use the scan to announce to our parents when we are a bit further along. 
When do you think I should go? Any reasons welcome in comments

I was 6 weeks 6 days, and we clearly saw the heartbeats. Didn't get to hear them, but we did see the fluttering. But if you want to see your baby looking somewhat like a baby, wait a little bit longer. It's entirely up to you, good luck and congrats!!

I am just about 9 weeks and my first doc appointment is next Wednesday.

Update- after all my debating, the scan clinic can't fit me in until 9+5!! I have been on the list the whole time for both weeks 8&9 and they suddenly had to close clinic! Oh well, on the plus side il see more in the scan! Just hope everything is ok

By 7 weeks they usually are able to see and hear the heart beat. Where I'm from they don't offer a first scan until 12 weeks.
