How did you figure it all out?

I'm freaking out because I don't know the first thing about being a mom. Like...do they sleep in their cribs immediately, should I sleep in the same room, what am I missing? I don't even know what I don't know.

Like, how did you find all this stuff out? What's something I don't know that I should? HELP!

You will learn everything just like your baby is learning to be in this world. One thing to remember is your baby is not judging you! Each parent has their own system. What works for someone else may be a nightmare for you and vise versa. The first months I think yes it's better to have baby in the same room because of all the night time feedings and you'll want to constantly check to make sure their still breathing. We all do it. Buy a wet pad for under your side of the bed sheets because your boobs will leak at night and no one wants milk to sour in their bed...with that try different milk pads for your boobs. Again everyone is different. Some work better for you than others. You are all your baby knows. Feed it, change it, give it somewhere warm to sleep, that's all they do for a few months lol the first 2-3 weeks are the hardest because your trying to figure out their schedule and their trying to figure out yours. But a system will come. 😄😄 best of wishes mommy to be. 💖

You will be fine! Maybe take a class at your hospital so you can learn more about all of these things and ask the instructor questions. I always think back to the old old days when they didn't even have cribs for their babies... They survived! Your baby will too ☺️

I just read read read.  And did what I want. I sleep with him in the bed,  Sometimes he is in his rocker, sometimes the crib etc. Just whatever feels right for you and works well.

I found the best was getting information directly from my mom, aunts and grandma. They seemed to know everything. Lol!

I did parenting classes at my hospital and read lots of articles. While a lot you learn hands on its nice to have attempted to get the basic understanding down ahead of time....especially care/safety topics....

I thought babycenter and the bump were informative websites. The happiest baby on the block is a good book. And the baby sleep site is good if you have sleep issues. There's lots of info out there, but it's true that you just kind of figure it out and intuitively do what you feel is best for you and baby. My daughter slept in a bassinet next to my bed for the first 4 months, then transitioned to crib and still sleeps there at almost 2 1/2 years old.

Same here, so many questions about the logistics and the best way to do everything! I've just been reading a couple books and luckily I have a lot of moms in my life to learn from, ha. Apparently it's normal to have a small bassinet in your room for the first few/several weeks (or I guess put the crib in your room if it will fit). It just makes it easier to feed every couple of hours and let both of you get back to sleep quickly...

I'm a ftm as well and freaked out mainly about just bringing my son home and he's all mine like I have to figure out what he needs or wants. I will have him in his bassinet in my room for sometime until I feel comfortable leaving him in a crib. Everything else just don't worry take it one step at a time one thing at a time. Unfortunately theirs no manual on how to be a mother once your baby is here your mother instincts will kick in. So relax don't stress and just one day at a time.

This is my first baby and TBH, I don't know much about being a mother either but I've heard once your baby is in your arms, everything just sort of comes naturally. And even if it doesn't, I'm sure you'll have family and friends by your side to help you out when you need it most. :)

I  found book. Just start reading and look on pinterest. This is my first. I know it won't be exactly as the book describes but I'll feel prepared the more I know.
