It's seriously so wasteful. Don't get me wrong, I love boutique baby clothes and am willing to spend big bucks on cute clothes. But for a "coming home outfit"? No. They're literally just going on a car ride. Who's going to see the baby in this $50 outfit? You, your husband, the nurse, and a couple of random people (who will MAYBE glance at you for a split second) in the hospital while you're being wheeled to your car. The baby is usually wrapped in a swaddle anyway, so you won't see it in pictures and then baby will be going on their first trip in a car seat which they should be wearing comfy clothes for because it's a shocking feeling for a newborn to sit in a car seat.

Definitely would not. I've found a lot of cute clothes for less than half that price. I just can't justify dropping that kind of money on an outfit she'll grow out of in a few short weeks. I think the outfit I have picked out for her to bring her home in is like $10!

I think it depends. Are they ever going to wear it again? Also what are you going to do with the outfit when you're done with it? We're saving ours and putting it in a shadowbox with her hospital band, hat, her information, etc. So for us since it will be displayed for ever I wouldn't mind spending a little more on something I really liked and wanted to remember.
