Makeup Probs..

Okay so, my SO doesn't like when I wear makeup (I don't wear a lot, I very recently got into doing it and I only know how to do lipsticks and eyeliner)

He doesn't like the lipstick because he can't kiss me without getting it on him.

The eyeliner he doesn't like because if I lay on his shoulder or something or hug him, it gets on his shirts.

I think I look like a pasty ugly troll without at least eyeliner. But he says that I don't need makeup at all.

I'm wondering, if anyone has gone through something similar, how did you resolve the issue? Did you just stop wearing makeup, or did you find tricks to help with the problem areas? I really need makeup for my self esteem. Like I said I only know how to do eyeliner and lipstick.
