Reliable loan forgiveness programs??

Anyone know of any actual real student loan forgiveness programs? I live in Iowa if that makes any difference. Everything I've found or researched seems to end up being a scam. I only have 4,000 some dollars of student loans to pay off and most of it is just interest! I have never missed a payment and have never been in default. We are starting a family and would like to get this out of the way..and please I don't need to hear anything about being irresponsible..
