Traechiostomy

Has anyone's baby ever had a traechiostomy? My baby was born with paralyzed vocal cords and he's unable to eat or breathe on his own. They were waiting to try to let him heal on his own but it's not getting any better and the other option is to do a traechiostomy and G tube. I'm scared to death I don't want my baby to go through this but I do want to get him home and get him healing.
