When could baby start sleeping in pack n play?

Question

Okay sooo I have a small bassinet for the first couple of weeks but I also have a pack n play that has a bassinet but I probably won't use that bassinet that much, I'm not sure. I know I'll be getting a mattress to go inside of the pack n play, when did you guys start putting your babies in pack n play and how did they sleep in it? I told dad to just get a crib but he insisted on getting this expensive pack n play so I really wanna be able to use it for awhile and not have to go buy a crib lol

My son slept in the top small bassinet for 2-3 weeks then I put him in the divider drop down bassinet of the pack in play until he was about 4 months and able to pull himself up. At that time I took the drop down holder out and put the cushion on the bottom of the pack and play and he was in that thing until like a year and some change old when he finally started expressing that he wanted a spider man bed.

My two slept in a playpen (with the divider that held them towards the top) from the day we came home. No blankets, no stuffed animals, nothing but the baby...

I felt more comfortable them being "right there" next to the bed rather than in a crib on the other side of the room.

It's not recommended to put a matress in a pack and play.. but if you want to that's your choice and alot of people do. We use a pack and play essentially from birth.. you can put them in it at any time. I only use the firm matress it comes with and only a fitted sheet over that.  Mine came with a little bassinet type deal too but I didn't like it because it doesn't seem real safe to me.

Im doing the same thing! But we are probably going to have a bassinet by the bed for the first 3-4 months until the baby is comfortable!
