Implant or IUD?

I'm looking into different methods of birth control and definitely think these are my best options. I'm in a long term relationship with my boyfriend and we've both been cleared as STI free, so our only concern is making sure I'm not pregnant. What are some real life pros and cons?

I'm on the IUD and I love it. Paraguard is amazing. It's non hormonal so I still get my period every month.

The implant is great for preventing against pregnancy but the side effects can be a deal breaker. I've had it for about a year now and am going to get it removed. It was great when I wasn't having sex regularly but when I did I started to get horrible mood swings, weight gain, and worse...  two periods a month 😭 Now this is just my experience and may not be the norm but I thought I'd share my expirence. I've had the best results with the depo shot personally ☺️

The effects are different from everybody. I have the implant and it lasts for 3 years. My doctor said only 1 out of 100 women get pregnant off of it a year. And it will start taking effect 7 days after getting it. The most common side effect of this is spotting. Also most women complain about weight gain, emotional problems, hair loss, arm soreness, etc etc. From my personal experience, I have actually lost weight..I'm not as hungry anymore. I feel like my energy is being drained really quickly, and that's about it. I spotted a week after getting it and now nothing. I also heard it does not cause infertility in the future, yet the IUD can cause infertility in the future. It's rare, but it happens.
