Does she deserve her baby?

I know this sounds really harsh but you have to have all the info first! 
My best friends sister just had a baby about a month ago and well here's the facts. 
She is a drug addict who smoked cigarettes and weed during her pregnancy and also drank alcohol. Her baby was born at 5lbs and is losing weight. As soon as she found out she was pregnant she quit her job and made her parents (who she lives with) buy everything for her and her boyfriends baby. They tried to get pregnant because a friend of theirs did and got more attention (literally that's why. She told me)
She lied to the government about being a single mom so she can be on the WIC program and she gives her child formula so she can still do drugs (which is good) 
On top of it all the bf is a drug addict jerk with no job who has punched her father in the face before and yet he lives with them! The daughter steals money and things and uses the money to get drugs. And on top of it she microwaves the formula and then gives it to her baby without checking the temperature! I've known these people for 4 years and they are idiots. The mother has done heroin and come and even meth "just to try it" and they are a bunch of losers. My BF took a semester off school to help them so they could work and save up money and they just leave her with the baby and go party or steal shit. I can't take it!!

If you feel like this is an issue of child neglect please call your local child protective services and file a report.

This doesn't seem to be an issue of deserving a baby, so much as a need for intervention.

The child will get taken away eventually by the sounds of it no matter what you do but I would give child services a call. Better sooner rather than later

Side note though: you don't need to be a single mom to get WIC. Most people on WIC are married with children.

Record everything, from when she's handling the baby while high, to any marks on the baby. 
Take videos and photos. If you just tell CPS these things, with no evidence, it'll take ages before they act. Also note when the baby seems sick, under weight or pale.

And the more people who report, the faster CPS will step in.

I went through the same thing with my cousin. By the time CPS took action, her piece of shit mother had been trading her to pedophiles for drug money.

No she doesn't deserve the baby. A baby is a gift and a miricle she doesn't even appreciate her own existence so why would she appreciate another life? In the UK if someone was to ring the police with this info they would be at the property within 20 mins! Don't go to cps go straight to the police! Hopefully they will arrive while she is using and take that child away! You must act NOW! Poor poor baby.

If u have to post a question on this app to know what to do, are u sure ur making the right choice? If it was as bad as you think u should have called already. People live there own lives you probably don't know the whole story seeing how your a 3rd party to this anyway, maybe staying out of their business n let her n her family work it out. Yes the baby needs to be safe but if no one has called yet.. Maybe u need to calm down and rethink. It's not something to play with, taking a child away from its family..
