Our sweet boy decided to make an early arrival💙 my birth story is definitely one I won't forget; around 27 weeks my Braxton hicks contractions were really starting to intensify. I called my doctor and they performed the FFN and said it was negative so I just needed to rest. Well a week later I started contracting again, thinking it was Braxton hicks I breathed through it only to then have them every 2-3 minutes. That's when I knew it was real. Got to the hospital and sure enough I was in labor. They started me on meds and magnesium to stop the contractions and did a round of steroid shots for the baby's lungs. After spending a week in the hospital I went home on bedrest (dilated to 2/50%/-3) for the remainder of pregnancy. Well at 32 weeks my water broke. I came back to the hospital but because I was early they didn't want to deliver him quite yet. I was put on antibiotics to prevent infection and hospital bedrest until 34 weeks when they would deliver. 34 weeks rolled around and I was induced with pitocin. 16 hours into labor I finally caved and got my epidural. A couple hours later I made it to 5 cm/80%/-2. Just 2 short hours later I was hit with tons and tons of pressure. Called the doctor in, she didn't even have to do an exam, I spread my legs and she said "call the team it's time to push!" I slightly freaked out. I had no idea he was that close! In that 2 hours I went all the way to 10/100%/+3!! 8 pushes later and there he was, the most handsome little man I ever did see. He's doing so well, just making sure he can breathe well on his own and he can eat right and then we can take him home. We are so blessed.Â
