Is it tacky

To check your registry and gift manager before your shower? I was telling my mom some of the items people have been getting me and who they were from and she said I have to stop because it's tacky. None of them will know I know and it helps me know what I'm getting so I can be better prepared. And I'm sure some people will shop off the registry, or sometimes the registry goes wonky and forgets to mark off certain things.
