I have full custody of my (7years old this Saturday!) son and his dad isnt the most mature person, his girlfriend was pregnant when they started dating and this was within the last 18 months. Anyways, ik my son doesnt get his dads full attention there and my son really dislikes the girlfriend. I try to say nice things or just say "well she isnt your mom so you dont have to worry" when he says things like "i want so-n-so out of my life". I dont feel like i should encourage him to like someone if he really feels a certain way.....just wanting advice/expierences. Wondering if its because there was a new baby there and a new girlfriend all at once (mind you my husband and i have been TTC for 4 years and my sons waiting on a baby bro/sis just as much as we are) or if it was that my son was older when she came around and he misses it just being him and his dad on the weekends. Ugh.....i never know what to say to my son. I dont want to be like they are talking bad about me and my husband and acting like it wont effect my son.
