Obese children.

I have a "friend" who has 3 sons, 2 with her current husband. The oldest is just as skinny as his Dad, but healthy for a 13 year old, but the other boys are so obese. They are 7 and 9 and can barely run because they get winded so easily. They let them eat whatever they want and their teeth are half rotten because of all the soda and sugar they consume. Every time I see them, they're chowing down on cakes, candy, and soda. The problem is their Dad. He's proud they're "fat" as he calls them. Says he's building them up to play football when they're older. Wants to see them play for the NFL later in life. How can parents think like that? I'm no perfect parent, by any means, but I would never intentionally make my child fat/obese, for any reason! They've had CPS called on them for it before, but nothing ever became of it.
