6 hr flight with a 3 month old?

Question

My mother asked if she could fly me, hubby and baby to visit her in Hawaii over the holidays. How could I say no? Well, I'll have a 3 month old... and I have no expirence taking care of a baby and have no idea what to expect. It's a 6 hr flight. Is this doable?

Pacifier or bottle for take off so the ears will be fine. Wait till you're about to take off to give it so you can be assured your baby will be fine. Also, a toy to keep the baby entertained- anything that you know catches your baby's attention for a while. Hopefully your baby sleeps for a little part of it or most of the flight. I did the Hawaii flight and then a 13 hour one to Japan with a baby and it wasn't so bad!

It'll be easier then you think. I did it. Not 6 hours straight but a good amount of time. Try and plan it so she naps most of it. And with the ear popping thing. It's never affected me daughter at all. 
Babe is young and comfortable with just laying in moms arms most of the time. Different when they are able to run around.

I've seen where people say to give a bottle or pacifier at take off and at landing to help with the ears. Other than that it should be fine.

From what I hear (no personal experience) babies can't pop their ears like we can as adults so can get sore ears

I flew when my first was exactly 2 months old..from London to Dubai so 7 hour flight and it was surprisingly easier than I thot. The younger they are the more they sleep anyway and I agree pacifier or bottle usually helps but surprisingly my son didn't even care or need it both take off and landing so u could be pleasantly surprised. It's when they get older and wanna wriggle around that's the problem! Trust me! I now have a 4.5 year old and 11 month old and it's a nightmare trying to keep the younger one entertained!
