No diapers from birth?

I came across a Facebook page that urges mothers to not put diapers on their baby and start potty training from birth. Whaaaat? How is that possible.. I just imagine poop everywhere lol. Does anyone do this? If so, how? Is it hard? I'm so curious since I've never heard of it.

I've heard of that, and I guess it's based on cues the same way feeding is. But...my baby turns red and grunts about 2 seconds before he lets loose so idk how I'd make it to the bathroom with him on time. Plus then what, I just hold him over the toilet? What about pee??? He doesn't have cues I've noticed for that.

I know someone who did this. Her baby never wore a nappy.

It's called elimination communication. I've never done it but basically you give your child frequent opportunities to go to the bathroom and you learn their natural cues before they go to the bathroom. Babies do have some control over their bowels/bladder and it's common in some parts of the world. It seems like a lot of work and you'd have to be pretty attentive but I bet it saves tons of money.

Babies can not control their digestion at all... Not only that, they're not fully capable of learning and grasping tasks like that as a newborn. They're more focused on squirming, eating and sleeping. I don't foresee that as a good idea at all..... Unless you really like to clean! 😂
