Q for my intersectional feminists

So it's really easy to identify sexism in the Christian religion and practices because it's the dominant religion (here in the US). But how do we critique or raise questions about sexism in Islamic practices without spreading Islamophobia? I'm also concerned with "white-knighting" because feminism in the West has a different focus than feminism in the Middle East (one doesn't make the other more or less valid).
