Breastfeeding concerns
Hey everyone. FTM here and I have some questions for those who have been through this before. I plan on trying to breastfeed our little one when he arrives, but am honestly super nervous as I just keep hearing horror stories from people/friends about how difficult or painful it was for them. Everyone I know either gave up very quickly, had to pay for a lactation consultant, or just didn't bother and used formula from the start. My biggest concerns are the pain/getting used to the feeling, having all feedings fall on me since my husband would like to help and be a part of the feedings, being able to breastfeed and use bottles/pump at the same time, and knowing if we need to supplement with formula. There are so many unknowns that I don't know how to prepare myself for it all or where to start. I am going to register for a prenatal breastfeeding class at my hospital. Should I have formula on hand before he arrives in case it doesn't work out and if so, how do you know which brand/type to try first?? Sorry for all the questions! Any advice/suggestions would help to ease the anxiety! Thanks!!
