Last night's hospital adventure
So, yesterday was a productive day. Got a ton done all day, felt really good, was extremely hydrated. I even made dinner, then as we sat down to dinner I was on the phone calling the doc since I was having a ton of contractions non stop. Only had about 3 with cramping. The reason I called is I took a fall on our hard tile Monday but never let the doc know. When I was having more than usual serious braxtons/contractions that weren't letting up, I called it in. Doc office was closed so I spoke with a registered nurse instead who told me I needed to call 911! I totally felt like that was not necessary, and asked if my husband could just take me to our hospital to check it out. I could walk and talk during contractions and let the nurse know it wasn't painful except for one in particular and a couple crampy ones. She still stressed we call 911 or go immediately. So we packed up the kids and drove to the hospital. For a moment it was really exciting thinking it could be time, but at 30 weeks I knew better. If it was labor they would stop it. Thankfully after an ultrasound, blood test, a few uncomfortable tests to check of any dilatation, and a couple hours wait, they cleared me to go home. I received a very short lesson from the doctor about what a Braxton hicks contraction is (man o man). I just shook my head and said thank you. This is not my first pregnancy. But in the end the very best news to receive was there is no bleeding from placenta from falling, baby is doing great, and I wasn't in pre term labor. Not even close!
