Low tsh?

So I got this in the mail.. I'm not really sure what it is or means... I'm waiting on a call from the nurse...

OK so I got a call from the nurse. They have put me on Synthroid and want to keep a close eye on it. Simply because it can cause pre term labor. Which I'm already at risk for as my last two were early.

TSH is a thyroid hormone. They want to recheck your levels at the next appointment. The other letters are other thyroid hormone tests. As mentioned before, I would ask your provider at your next appointment what a low level could mean for you.

My SIL is a pediatrician and she told me when the tsh is low it is common to do other more sensitive tests likes the ones they're suggesting for you. At 10 weeks my tsh was low too. "Normal" range (according to the lab) is betwen 0.4 and 4.0 I think. Mine is 0.061. Pretty low so i was worried. I talked to my obgyn and she says it's normal in early pregnancy to get low tsh results because of the effect of the hcg and not to worry. She didnt send me for any additional tests. Talk to your dr about it to ease your mind. Good luck.
