Normal?

Im 34 weeks and already 1 cm dilated & having real labor contraction ... Is this normal or does this mean he will be coming soon ? Ftm and not to familiar with any of this ..

I've been dialated 1cm and 20% effaced since 35 weeks. I've been having painful contractions but water hasn't broke and haven't noticed mucus plug. I go in tmr for 37 week checkup. My contractions have gotten more painful and closer together since my 36 week. Doc told me "that's a good thing means your getting ready for labor" which wasn't what I wanted to hear! Yes i already know that lol!

With my second I was dilated 1 cm at 30 weeks.. I made it to 37 weeks with her...I didn't really have contractions because I got put on medicine to stop them when I was 28 weeks

It means body is getting ready but not necessarily soon

Its just your body getting ready for labor,  it could be weeks & you'd still be dilated 1cm or more.  Start getting stuff ready just in case!!!! Potluck!
