Illegal Immigrants

I have a question about illegal immigrants, and feel free to comment if you know first hand how it works or if you've had experience.

How do you work and to to school if you're undocumented? Doesn't everything require Social security number? I know when you we had my daughter the hospital documents asked if we wanted to apply for an SSN for her. Are there American born citizens that don't have a social?

Also I know there are under the table jobs that people can apply for but is that the only jobs they can do?

I never really wondered until the news of the undocumented ladies who got full ride scholarships. Did their school not require ID also?
