Bassinet vs Pack & Play?

Question

We don't have much room in our room for a crib yet until we move, so debating between getting a bassinet or a pack and play...ladies any advice regarding which you like better, functionality, baby's comfort and safety when sleeping, etc? I want to put this right to my side of the bed where I sleep, so even if you have experience with a co sleeper bassinet that would be awesome.  Thanks so much!

I would go with a pack n play personally. Once baby outgrows a real bassinet, it's done. A pack n play can be used for more than a year.

Pack n play. They're bigger than those co-sleeper things, but they also "grow" with your child. Our daughter slept in the little rocker bassinet on top of the pack n play until she was about 2 months and then on the raised mattress until about 5 or 6 months. She didn't move to her actual crib until she was 7 months old. We got a lot of use out of that thing and plan to do the same with this baby.

Pack n play... Baby will grow out of bassinet in a hurry and then it's useless. Pack n plays have bassinets on them that you'll be able to remove when baby outgrows it then you still have usable gear.

I'd say pack n play. I used one with my 1st and got another for my daughter on the way I'd get the one that comes with the bassinet..baby will be nice and snug in there so no worries about his/ her body /head moving around and suffocating or something ..it changes with baby as he or she grows ..I love the ones with the nature sounds and vibrations also and you can pack it up and take it with you if traveling or going somewhere:)! ..I'd recommend it over a regular crib. I bought the Graco 'travel lite crib' which starts as a bassinet and has two stages that grows with the baby, and then when it's no longer needed for sleep, transforms into pack and play. It's light weight, but smaller than traditional pack and play. Fits perfectly in our bedroom, easy to fold, and will be great for when we visit family. Very reasonably priced - highly recommend

Pack and play has more longevity and usually has a "bassinet" attachment and sometimes even a little changing table spot.

I have a pack n play, and plan on putting that next to me for sleeping. I also used the changing attachment for a long time with my son. I love the versatility.

I am getting a pack n play! We are also limited on space i put one on my registry with the bassinet and changing topper. Not sure how the functionality of it since it's my first baby but my sister had a bassinet with her first and baby didn't like it but she still uses the pack n play not for naps but for play time! I'm hoping to use it for the first few months in our room and maybe some nap times.
