Does anyone do formula and breast milk?

My little girl is 5 days old and I had trouble breast feeding while in the hospital so I decided to start formula. My milk came in two nights ago though and the nurse at the hospital had told me to pump until my breasts don't hurt anymore and that I can just feed whatever I pump to her.
Has anyone else does anything like this? Used mainly formula but fed breast milk once a day or so?

I did a mixture of both and it worked great! I weaned her off breast milk at 3months and I had no issues at all (for me or my little girl) I will be doing exactly the same for my next baby

Yes I did both, but be aware if you had to start pumping early before your supply regulates at 3-6w, and you only pump and not breastfeed at all, you are likely to loose your breast milk supply in a month or so.

I had to pump due to issues with baby at birth and ran out of milk by month 2.

I did the opposite, bottle fed breast milk and supplemented with formula... My daughter wouldn't breast feed and I couldn't pump enough to keep her content... She was a little piggy

Yes, I do. I BF her during the day and at night we give her formula so my husband can get up with her (I can't seem to pump enough for the nights)

Curious . do you mix the formula into the breast milk or just separately do it like that . is it safe ? Or can it make them have a lose bowl ?
