Boyfriend issues 🙄

Typically I hang out with my boyfriend every day and we practically live together...so we spend a lot of time together. For the past 9 days though, I've been across the country and I miss him so much. Most the time I call him, he's busy working on his car or hanging out with family which is understandable, and as soon as he's alone he wants space. I'm pretty clingy, but he's had a ton of space with me being gone and he still wants more! I asked him to pick me up at the airport because I want to see him so bad, and he doesn't want to because he doesn't want to drive through any traffic. Am I seriously being too clingy? Is it too much to ask him to pick me up? Ps:we have been together for like 5 months now, and we are super close.🙁🙃
