Pitbull or any dog

I want to home this beautiful pit bull puppy for the first of ever having a puppy or any dog & my mom wants him in the dang basement😭😂 and I tell her "would you want someone to put you in the basement"😂 he so cute the point where she says I'll baby him and she doesn't want that she wants a guard dog. And I'm trying to tell her that I can keep him in my room and he will still be a guard dog. But she doesn't think so... So for the ones who have dogs or pit bulls and you allow them roam around and sleep where ever, are they still a guard dog? Does babying them a little affects the way they protect your family? That's my baby boy👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾😌 I'm so excited I just hope I can officially make him mines😩 HELP ME WITH ANY ADVICE PLEASEE!
