Is there anything i can do??

My husband and I just moved into a new house. We are renting it. Our landlord told us he would have the carpets cleaned, walls repainted, and a couple other little things done before we moved in (last renters did not take care of the place at all).

Well we just started moving things in today. The carpets have not been cleaned, the walls have not been painted. But that isn't my problem, my problem is the place is infested with fleas!!!! I am so beyond livid. I do not own any animals, but being 33 weeks pregnant I really don't want to battle with these disgusting little parasites. My husband said we can take care of it on our own, but I don't think we should! It isn't our problem, and I think the landlord should do something about it. Is there anything I can do? I literally walked into our bedroom, sat a box down, and had 10 or more on my legs just from walking into the room. It is disgusting and I do not want to step foot in that house.
