Dealing with breastfeeding disappointment

Meghan

My son is 4 weeks old today and over the last 3 weeks i have been on the emotional rollercoaster of not being able to breast feed. I have pumped and pumped and he feeds and feeds but next to nothing. Only enough for an oz a day. See consultant and tried everything they suggested but nothing. No let down no engorged breasts. Just alot of dreams smashed. Cried more about it than i did durring the entire corse of my pregnancy.

I wish that there was more out there to support mom who arent able to breastfeed and the emotional stress that it causes. Google surch about milk supply and ita all about that its just in your head and try this or that again. Never anything about that hay you kight just be part of the unlucky 5% and thats ok you shouldnt feel like less of a mother or a failure because sometimes it just doesnt work. Instead we live in a world where breast is best and your Dr looks at you like you failed your child because your body just wont do something that it should be able to do.

Rant over and thank you for listening.
